Chartered State Registered Physiotherapist based in the Isle of Man. A Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist for 20 years working in both the NHS and private practice.

In 2018, when I decided to take the plunge and set up my own Chartered Physiotherapy practice I never could have imagined how fulfilling it would be. 5 years has flown by!

I loved my clinical work in the NHS and always managed to fit private work around this, whether it be working evening clinics in a Manchester private practice, with sports teams in the UK and latterly helping a colleague on Island with maternity leave cover. I never envisaged I would work in private practice fully and leave the NHS, but it’s funny how things work out.

My clinic is next to my home and this allows me to work flexibly, both around my patients and also my family. The clinic is entirely separate and has it’s own entrance. A short commute for me each morning which I am thankful for every day!

My clinic ethos remains true to the day I specialised in my field of work;

  1. Excellent quality and experienced assessment directly accessed by patients in a timely manner.
  2. Clear communication of this assessment with patients and relatives.
  3. Detailed plan and how we measure success together.
  4. Thorough treatment and rehabilitation process with patient being ‘on board’ with the ‘why’ and ‘how’.
  5. Follow up care only when necessary to keep patients in control of their rehabilitation and success and to keep treatment costs to a minimum.

I generally work on word of mouth referrals so sometimes clinic can be busy and there is a short wait to be seen. I do feel that often a clear quality assessment and plan minimises input and gets people back in control of their pain, injury or illness.

If you are struggling, get in touch. What are you waiting for?
